The State of Georgia requires that every physical education student have their fitness levels assessed by using the Fitnessgram program. The Fitnessgram program has 5 components (Pacer, Mile Run, Sit and Reach, Curl Ups and Push Ups). Each student will be tested at the beginning and the end of each semester.
Fitnessgram grades will be assigned based on how each student scores on each component. Each component is worth 20 points. If a student meets the Fitnessgram standard then they will receive 20 points for that component. If a student does not meet the standard but scores better on the post test then they will receive 15 points. If the student stays the same they will receive 10 points. If they do worse then they will score 5 points on that component. The total sum of points for the 5 components will be the students grade.
